GVI's heat shrink terminals create environmentally sealed connections, butt connections completely isolate the wire from the environment. Because of their configure ration the disconnects can only offer a partial seal, when properly applied. This sealing of the connection isolates it from contaminants such as salt water which would corrode copper wire.
